baby raspberries?

The work has been done, embryos injected, all that is left for this stage is anticipation. What a truely incrediable experience, modern day medical science is mind blowing. During this procedure I was able to look on a tv screen (huge flat screen, of course) check the little babes out, then watch on a smaller monitor go into thy uterus and inject the baby raspberries (thats what they remind me of). Its a little weird watching yourself hopefully becoming pregnant. Yeah, I felt like I was on House for a sec, such a celebrity. Check them out, arent they the cuttest?

Out of the 16 that fertilized these were the two largest, strongest,
luckiest ones, auntie sessie is so proud!

Um yes, I was being a little dramatic...or was I hiding the fact I didnt
have a single stitch of makeup on?

Here we go, rolled into to surgery like we owned the place,
Holla!

Dont the babes get you thinking of raspberries? They do me...

Oh snap! I cant have that.....

ready.set.go.

Okie Dokes, tomorrow is the "big" day, the day we have been leading up too. Big hand clap for the mommy to be, the retrieval of the eggs was extremely successful and 14 eggs are fertilized, safe and secure. Oh no, they are only inserting two, this institute is completely legit and frowns upon anything other than ONE, thank you Jesus! Hormones are absolutely driving me wacko but hey, it is what it is.

My feelings right now: I would like to say everything is smooth as a milkshake on a summer day but I'm not gonna lie this milkshake has got some cookies in it. I am excited, nervous, and hyped on hormones (did I already mention that).

What more do you say? The husband is slightly nervous, the parents to be are crunched with anticipation and Raelyn's teacher was looking at me like I had royally lost my mind when I told her why I had to reschedule her parent/teacher conference. Love it, love the look of surprise and excitement!

Well maybe not quite like that. Maybe a little more like this.....

spring in thy step.

This weekend marks the last weekend of non-pregnancy, I had big plans with the hub to get away and hang with friends. Thanks to the flu those plans have been slightly altered, maybe even done with. To keep myself out of the mully grubs I have been enjoying the sunshine and preparing for spring, I love this time of year, especially down on the island. Nothing beats the smell of sunshine and salt air on a great porch swing. Hoping you sunshine and a swing through the weekend.

stripping the habit.

Ok, so ever since Raelyn was wee little everytime I would go off with out her I would pick her up a little something (bad habit!). When she was little it was quite easy seeing as she loved movies and she love love loved Polly Pockets. The older she grew the more her interest began to change, which wasnt and isnt such a bad thing seeing as she owns every Polly Pocket ever made. So anyway, yesterday I had the last ultrasound before the big day, therefore I was out of town. "What was I to get her I asked myself,"? And there it was the new Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips. I had seen and read about them in a recent fashion mag and was super excited. I picked them puppies up, graffiti print of course and checked out. Lets just say I was one cool mom last nite and as always she was one chic gal in school. Im not going to lie it was slightly frusterating, a little expensive, and I have a creak in the neck...alls worth the pain for my baby! Watch for forming habits...

serving up a slice.

My grandad once said, "time nor tide waits for any man," which got my wheels a turning, we certainly dont have forever. So, since life is so short its absolutely silly to waste time sweating the small stuff. The past two weeks I have been helping to look after the parents of the parents, and with that comes lots to learn (patience being top of the list). Having said that, story after story have been told and I have quickly discovered the change in time. During the Great Depression my grandaddy worked in the CC labor camps, at such a young age struggling to bring home little money for his parents. Once the nation jumped to its feet he moved on to burn hours in the Coast Guard, he started out making a mere $21 a MONTH! I about croaked, can you believe it...today $21 barely buys me a tube of lipstick, its insane. So today I give you a slice of humble pie, Im certainly trying to enjoy my slice. Now dont go a wastin' it, let it take you through the weekend! Enjoy.

forcast.

One of the hot 2011 spring fashion trends is sheer, am I crazy about it?...yeah a little. To me the look can be a little intimidating but done right, so chic! So anyway, since the forcast shows transparency I have decided that I will do somewhat of the same. I have started the patches and ironically they are clear shear and everything nice, not brown. They are pretty painless and I quickly forget they are there. Although they are practically minuscule the side affects however are not. This is going to be very transparent, are you ready? I am sweating ALL THE TIME. Its really gross I know but your are reading, so far I sweat, eat, and can be somewhat emotional...not too bad considering the hormone increase. Speaking of sheer I am digging this,

Im not for sure the talented designer this look was inspired by, I found  the pic in an artice off of fashionising.com written by Daniel P. Deryk. I actually love this look, red lips and the attitude of yeah I really dont have time for this (even though I have nothing else to do). Classic! Welcoming spring, enjoy the day.

the box.

Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.
-Dr. Suess

It has been recent that I have came across this quote, and I LOVE it. Its so inspiring, and I am not much of a "quote" person. I know im lagging alittle but I just have watched the move, "eat pray love," which I also enjoyed very much. Yours truely, right here, Im the gal who loves the movie with the strong minded women reinventing herself in another country..."Under the Tuscan Sun, Sabrina, and eat love pray...." love them all!

Anyway, so in this movie Liz, the main character has a box. In this box she collects her dreams and aspirations, and well wouldnt you know that Kelly Weastler's current blog was about her and her "trays".  Collections of things that inspire her river of creativity and so forth. With all these great things happening and inspirations left and right I have decided that I will start a collaboration of things that interest me, although Im going to have to have a pad lock on mine....two year olds have no "off" limits, not in my house anyway, and Raelyn would want  to fill it with all things Ke$ha, no thank you.

Do you find things that inspire you? Knick knacks (which I usually despise, but put away in a box I think I could live with that), magazine clippings, quotes, recipes....ect.

under the belt.

Well the weekend is here and the shots are over! I poked myself for the last time this morning, and lets just say it went out with a bang, ouch! God bless the person with diabetes, and I mean that literally. One hormone down and just three more to go. Bring it on big boy.

loving...

Ahh, February, the month of loving all things. One of my daily reads is a blog of a dear friend, fificheek. She has recently started a composite of all things she loves. This, I must say, inspired me to dig and discover a few things I love. Its always healthy to admire and desire new things, Lagerfield once said, "items to be vintage are ok, but people not so much," and I couldnt agree more. Once you quit dreaming and aspiring for more, then well you have just quit. Within my search I found three things, at this particular moment that I am truely in love with....

since early October I have wanted a watch, but to me I could never quite find the one I was looking for, but guess what people, I have found a true love. The Kingsington by Nixon, in seafoam. Its finished with a chromocoat finish, meaning it has a top layer of paint that will chip creating an antiqued look, the more you wear it the more it becomes you! Oh how I love it, and its in my price range!!

NixonNow

next, a framed world map. Another item I have wanted for quite awhile. The map isnt hard to find, its the funky laced wood stained frame in bright purple that has been another story. I love this map, is it the one I will settle for, maybe. I think it will be debonair hung low on the wall behind my sewing machine in the guest room.

Poster Revolution
lastly, sweet decadent cupcakes. I have a small obsession with cupcakes, and although a little tidious to make, delicate and delicious to serve and eat. I thought for Valentines what better treat then lovely cupcakes, and nobody does cupcakes more chic than Giada on Everyday Italian,
